An integral part of the Indian Lake football team’s successful offensive line is heading to play for Muskingum University.

Senior guard Preston Wright signed his letter of intent recently. He was joined by his family, friends and coaches for the big event. Wright earned CBC Second Team for the past two seasons as an offensive lineman and he looks forward to helping build the fighting Muskies program in New Concord.

“I like the family atmosphere that they have in the football program at the university. It’s nice and close. I’m excited to help change their program around and just do the best I can,” says Preston Wright.

IL Head Football Coach Dave Coburn says Wright’s consistent hard work and football IQ will serve him well at the next level.

“The one thing that Preston Wright will bring to Muskingum is versatility … What he was able to do was play three different positions for us- center, guard and tackle. Two different seasons, he played two different positions at a very high level.”

Wright plans to study sports management.
