Despite the cold temperatures, Indian Lake High School students stood with thousand of others in downtown Columbus on April 19 to show that most young people choose to be drug and alcohol free and not participate in physical abuse or violence. More than 90 ILHS SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) members went to Columbus to take part in the “We Are the Majority” youth rally with 2,100 teens from across Ohio. Speakers included Javier Sanchez of “Be Present Ohio” and performers from the Start Talking, Start Recording Ohio’s Youth Got Talent Contest.

The group marched from Genoa Park to the State House to let lawmakers know there are young people committed to making good life decisions.

The rally is a function of the Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network. OYLPN is a joint-venture between Drug Free Action Alliance (DFAA) and The Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (Ohio MHAS).
