The West Liberty Bicentennial Committee is accepting orders for Troop Banners until the end of February. They will be displayed from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. Take your soldier’s picture, the form (available at WL Town Hall) with soldier information and a check for $85 to WL Town Hall and Cindee Boyd will take your order. Your picture will be scanned so you can take it home with you after you place your banner order. You will get the larger banner for display in West Liberty and two baby banners which you ill receive when thy come in.

Green Hills Community has partnered with Mary Rutan Hospital to provide health screenings and education 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 23, in Foundation Hall, 6557 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty. Free screenings include cholesterol, blood sugar, derma scan, blood pressure and others. For an accurate cholesterol screen, please fast for 12 hours. Info will be available for pulmonary and diet education, hearing, safe driving, optical and chiropractic health, home health services, physical therapy, heart health, DayBreak adult day services and fitness classes at Green Hills.

Grace Chapel will be showing the film “The Case for Christ” on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 6 pm. This event is free and theater-style popcorn and bottled water will be provided. The West Liberty-Salem school board on March 6 will hold a special meeting/work session; on March 13 a special meeting to replace the March 20 regular meeting; and on April 10 a special meeting to replace the April 17 regular meeting. There will be no meeting April 17.

A Staff and Parent Appreciation Dance will be hosted by the West Liberty-Salem High School Key Club. Come as you are, but be sure to wear your dancing shoes! The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the HS Cafeteria. The club is holding the dance to show appreciation to staff and parents for their hard work. Babysitting will be provided by HS students in the gym. Drinks and snacks provided.

Need a tax form from the IRS or State of Ohio or RITA or one of the other forms? Using your Library card, log on to Computer Express 15 and automatically opens to a page with tabs for all of the tax websites. Select the tab you need. Find the form you need. Newell St., again is offering Grief Support through GriefShare, a 13-week seminar and support group designed to help rebuild life after losing a loved one, offering help, encouragement and hope. The West Liberty-Salem Local School District will schedule kindergarten screening appointments from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, and Friday, May 4. To be eligible for kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or prior to Aug. 1, 2018. Women who have experienced infertility or miscarriage, are undergoing fertility treatments, or are considering adoption are invited to a monthly support group that meets at Memorial Hospital. HOPE, an independent, peer-led, female-only support group provides an opportunity to share information, discuss sensitive issues, or just listen to others. The Food Pantry of Wake Up the World Ministries is open the last Friday of each month from 4 to 8 p.m. to individuals and families in Logan County needing food and who qualify under the Second Harvest Food Bank criteria.The church is in downtown Bellefontaine on the corner of East Columbus Avenue and Madriver Street, across Columbus Avenue from the Huntington Bank.Qualified individuals and families can secure three days of food, including fresh veggies, meats and canned goods, by entering the church’s side entrance on Madriver Street. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

The Logan County Health District is offering flu shots for all ages during the regular Immunization Clinics every Thursday from 9 to 11a.m. and the 1st Thursday of the month from 2 to 6 p.m. Most insurances are accepted, but it is suggested to call 937-651-6186Monday-Wednesday to preregister for the Thursday clinic.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
