Working to make music together

Indian Lake Elementary students are working on making music together. Teams of students in Pam Thayer’s second through fourth grade classes are using PVC pipe to construct a grand staff. Then the classes use the staff during lessons to learn clef and note names. Thayer said the exercise is successful because building the giant staff sticks with students and they get excited to see what comes next when adding to the staff. In the photo, second graders Mason Swisher, Connor Compton, Lily Pitts and Titus Kelly construct the staff on the floor before standing it up.
