The third annual Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Turkey Trot will be held at Woodland Park Estates in Lakeview this year. Join the growing trend of preparing for your Thanksgiving feast by being one of the estimated 786,000 runners in America to cross the finish line of a Turkey Trot or other Thanksgiving Day race event. Although Thanksgiving is usually associated with turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving has actually become the biggest running day of the year!

On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, at 9 a.m., the Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the 4-mile Turkey Trot, hosted and sponsored by Woodland Park Estates and Wallace Custom Building. The 4-mile run/walk will begin and end at beautiful Woodland Park Estates, 610 West Lake Street, Lakeview, Ohio. The Turkey Trot is open to all registered participants, and strollers and dogs are welcome. Same day registration is available, or register online at www.indianlakechamber.com, or mail or drop off your registration and fee to the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Turkey Trot, 8200 St. Rt. 366 Suite 2, PO Box 717, Russells Point, OH 43348. Lori Newman, Race Coordinator, asks that all participants bring a new, unwrapped toy the day of the event, for distribution by Friends Serving Friends at their Annual Christmas Party. “This is a great opportunity to do something good for yourself – exercise – and also something good for the community. It’s a win-win,” says Lori.

Run or walk through picturesque Woodland Park Estates, a 95-home planned, private community located just one-third of a mile west of renovated, historic downtown Lakeview. Admire the custom built homes and maybe even see your turnkey dream home! Office Manager Amby Wallace says “Our development is looking forward to hosting the Turkey Trot runners on Thanksgiving morning, and we are happy to give any of the participants, friends and families tours of the project any time they would like to schedule a visit to Woodland Park Estates.”

When you are done running, or after you have enjoyed your Thanksgiving feast, relax and navigate the newly designed website at www.woodlandparkestates.net to find out more about the newly built home,, The Amsterdam, available now, and The Cottage Homes, which are in the planning stages. Partner / Construction Manager Steve Wallace says “This is something new and exciting for the area. Cottage homes are designed for anyone who is considering condo living, but just isn’t ready to give up their green space. Another service we offer to our residents is the ReSO (Resident Service Options) Program. This program offers our residents the options that would be associated with condo living, such as snow removal, lawn care and so on.” Let Woodland Park Estates handle a variety of services for you so you can spend your time running and living! Take that first step to experience the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of living. Call or visit the friendly professionals at the Woodland Park Estates Office, located at 610 West Lake Street, Lakeview, 937-842-9663, and “Run Home To Your Vacation.”
