Students urged to be in The Laker Zone

Third grade teacher Pam Scarpella, wearing her “Zone Buster” uniform, unveils a new banner to remind students of proper playground conduct. The skit accompanied a video for students to demonstrate the right way to play on the playground.

The first Laker Zone Assembly of the year concentrated on good behavior on the playground. The “Zone Busters” were back to remind students how to take turns, play well with others and use equipment properly while at play.

The Laker Zone is a long-time grant program that encourages students to help others, resist bullying and be hard workers in the classroom. One person per class was awarded a Laker Zone shirt for being “in the zone” for the first nine weeks.

Kindergarten-Arianna Augustus, Stella Wagler, Deborah Moore, Jazmine Blackburn, Piper Burch, Avery Boyd, and Reese Imm

1st Grade-Brian Saunders, Jett Harpst, Sarah Dearwester, Annabell Williamson, Emma Taylor, Allyson Hoffman and Ayla Brentlinger

2nd Grade-Malerie McNeal, Ava Polhamus, Lillian Strauser, Jasmine Lattimer, Evelyn Knabe, Colton Burden and Gwyndillyn Martin

3rd Grade-Quinn Imm, Will Faler, Reagan O’Dell, Lucy Buscher, Kenan Mansfield, Jayden Skaggs and Colin Bendler

4th Grade-Carley Strayer, Xavier Johnson, Olivia Hurley, Lillian Phillips, Joe Cummins, Dakota Brown, Alex Kinney, Alyssa Powell and Ashton Williams

Bus-Nicole Lin, Kayla Lazo, Alexandria Stillgess, Lucille Smith, Augusta Biederman and Raelin Klofta.

More than 220 students were also recognized for perfect attendance the first 9 weeks of school. Two lucky students, 3rd grader Colin Bendler and 1st grader Makenzie Motter won bicycles.
