This event is hosted by the Indian Lake Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Chapter and includes a hearty breakfast with a musical salute to the country’s heroes. The celebration will be Friday, Nov. 3, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Indian Lake High School auxiliary gym. Any service member attending may bring one guest. Indian Lake Elementary School and Indian Lake Community Markets will team up for Family Fun (Game) Night at Community Markets in Lakeview (not Indian Lake Elementary School) on Monday, Nov. 6, from 6-7:30 p.m. All students in attendance will get a free cookie. There will be PTO Math activities, tours of the store, a scavenger hunt and other activities. Students will also have the opportunity to decorate a grocery bag to be given to veterans. Lakeview and Russells Point Fire Department Trucks will be there, along with representatives from Mary Rutan Hospital Healthy Habits.

The community is invited to a Halloween Party at the Miami Grange in DeGraff on Thursday, Oct. 26, immediately following Trick or Treat. There will be costume contests, games, prizes and refreshments.

The Logan County Board of DD is partnering with the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence to present Understanding and Supporting Individuals with Autism on Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine. Indian Lake High School will host FAFSA Help Ohio on Nov. 9 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the ILHS Media Center. This event offers high school seniors and their parents a chance to meet with financial aid professionals and get free FAFSA assistance. Green Hills Community offers training to become a State Tested Nursing Assistant 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Nov. 6-17. The program prepares candidates for the Ohio certification test that allows them to work in long-term care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care settings. STNAs help patients and residents with activities of daily living and are responsible for the first line of care that promotes physical and emotional wellness and helps restore patients and residents to the greatest level of independence possible. In a small classroom setting, students are taught from a comprehensive curriculum approved by the Ohio Department of Health and spend time practicing their skill and asking questions. Outside the classroom, students participate in 16 hours of hands-on clinical training. At the conclusion of the course, students are eligible to sit for the state test for nursing assistants. There will be no October pancake breakfast at Miami Grange in DeGraff due to an auction in the neighborhood on the scheduled date. The final pancake and sausage breakfast for 2017 will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Women who have experienced infertility or miscarriage, are undergoing fertility treatments, or are considering adoption are invited to a monthly support group that meets at Memorial Hospital. HOPE, an independent, peer-led, female-only support group provides an opportunity to share information, discuss sensitive issues, or just listen to others. Meetings are confidential, unbiased and planned to provide support and comfort. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. in Meeting Room E at Memorial Hospital, 500 London Ave. in Marysville (use entrance E). The Food Pantry of Wake Up the World Ministries is open the last Friday of each month from 4 to 8 p.m. to individuals and families in Logan County needing food and who qualify under the Second Harvest Food Bank criteria.The church is in downtown Bellefontaine on the corner of East Columbus Avenue and Madriver Street, across Columbus Avenue from the Huntington Bank. Qualified individuals and families can secure three days of food, including fresh veggies, meats and canned goods, by entering the church’s side entrance on Madriver Street. Overeaters Anonymous meets at 10 a.m. each Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1505 S. Main St., in Bellefontaine. This meeting is open to anyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

The Logan County Health District Office, 310 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. For more information, call 937-651-6186.

The Logan County Health District is offering flu shots for all ages during the regular Immunization Clinics every Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. and the 1st Thursday of the month from 2 to 6 p.m. Most insurances are accepted, but it is suggested to call 937-651-6186 Monday-Wednesday to preregister for the Thursday clinic.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
