Baird Street homeowners win Beautification Award

The village of West Liberty presented its Beautification Award on Sept. 4 during the annual West Liberty Lions’ Labor Day Festival. This year’s recipients were Tim and Jodi Smoot of 305 E. Baird St. This year voting was completed online at mywestliberty.com where over 2,200 votes were cast and the difference between first and second place was 7 votes. The East Baird Street residents were presented with a plaque and $50 West Liberty business gift certificate, which the Smoots decided to give to the Boitnotts, who reside at 216 S. Taylor (second place).

The village expressed appreciation to the owners of the five homes nominated this year, including 212 Miller St., 115 W. Columbus and 316 East Baird, as well as all of the online voters. The Beautification Award is given annually to homeowners who have improved the quality of their exterior or have consistently maintained their property.
