The Village of Russells Point has implemented a Subpoena program to allow current and former residents with a final opportunity to resolve outstanding balances and to file missing tax returns prior to legal action. On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, with assistance provided by the Central Collection Agency, and Village Solicitor (Atty. Robert Eshenbaugh), residents were subpoenaed to appear before the Tax Administrator (CCA) and the Village Solicitor to resolve outstanding issues. The next step for those who failed to comply, or those who fail to follow through with commitments to resolve, will be legal action to enforce the provisions of the Russells Point Municipal Income Tax Ordinance. Jeff Weidner, Fiscal Officer, was pleased with the 72 percent attendance rate for those individuals who received a subpoena, and is hopeful that legal action will be avoided with their commitment to compliance.
