It was a perfect day for a car and craft show in Lakeview this past Saturday at Indian Lake.

The entire lake area was bustling with people, from beach goers at Old Field Beach to the Sandy Beach Bridge at Russells Point Harbor and all points in between. The big show of the day though was in Lakeview for the annual car and craft show. The downtown streets were lined with cool show cars, craft booths and spectators.

Many craft vendors had their merchandise on display along with cars of many makes and models. Indian Lake’s “Got Talent” auditions took place at noon and the National Kiddie Tractor Pull began at 2pm.

Scott and Brandy Roberts drove from Prospect to show their “VolksRod” in the car show. “A Volksrod is a Volkswagen Beetle modified into to a hotrod,” explained Scott.” “We found a surfboard and suitcase at an antiques shop and attached them on-top of the car for the surfer effect.” The car features a 1600 dual port engine and a customized air ride suspension.

“This is the first year we have been to the Lakeview Lake Car Show and our first entry of a car into this show. We just love it here at Indian Lake and are having a great time,” says Brandy.

The couple love the area so much they recently bought a “condo-cabin” at Indian Lake so they could spend more time there.

Kim Stone, who runs a local 4-H group had a craft booth on display at the show. ” Our booth is promoting and raising funds for the local 4-H Hobbies and Horses group,” says Stone. ” We are having a Pampered Chef auction today.”

In addition to all the varied activities, spectators were treated to musical entertainment by local singer/songwriter and guitarist Dustin Hites from Lima
