BELLEFONTAINE – Ohio Hi-Point Career Center honored 195 high school students during its annual convocation ceremonies in May. The ceremony, which celebrates the graduation of students from their career-technical program and from the district’s 14 associate school districts, was held in the Bellefontaine High School gymnasium due to weather conditions. Nearly $500,000 in scholarships were awarded to members of the Class of 2017.

“From all the staff at Ohio Hi-Point, we have enjoyed helping you connect your passions to your dreams and we wish you all the best,” Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith said. “You’re never too young or old to listen to advice from somebody you trust, continue to build perseverance, and always be humble and kind in all you do.”

The ceremony was led mostly by Hi-Point students Jolene Moore, Chelsea Strunk, Clair Culp, Abby Phipps, and High School Director Tonya Ramey. Lou Vito, president of WPKO/WBLL in Bellefontaine, announced each student as their senior career-technical instructors passed out the graduating senior certificates. Wesley Kidder, a Welding and Fabrication student from Riverside High School, received Ohio Hi-Point’s Best of Class honor.
