The 2017 BOSS 5K Summer Run and 1 Mile Big Orange Fun Run for runners 10 and under will be held Saturday, Aug. 19 at Lions Park in West Liberty. The fun run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K race at 9 a.m. The entry fee for the 5K is $20 if registered by Aug. 12 and $25 on race day. The fun run entry fee is $5. All participants registered by August 12th will receive a race shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers. Gift certificates will be awarded to age group winners and all runners will receive a race medal. Donovan O’Neil, Grassroots Director for Americans for Prosperity-Ohio, will address the Top of Ohio Patriots on Thursday, June 8, at 7 p.m. at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, 2280 State Route 540, Bellefontaine. O’Neil’s responsibilities include educating, activating and mobilizing individuals around the issues of liberty and freedom.

The Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew will hosting the 18th annual Parade and Auction at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, on Turkeyfoot. Again this year, the Shriners will participate, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 decorated entries. The parade is open to any group, business or organization and any motorized vehicle is allowed. Pre-registration is not necessary. To participate, simply be in place at the start of the parade route at Logan’s Landing no later than 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the parade, more than 100 items will be auctioned in the yard next to the Tilton Hilton. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct “About Boating Safely” classes from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 17 at the Moundwood Launch Ramp, Indian Lake. The Logan County Art League is making a call for fine artists and fine craftspeople to participate in Art on the Beach (previously Art on the Harbor). The 8th annual art festival will be held on Aug. 5-6 at Oldfield Beach, Lakeview. This will be an opportunity for artists to show and sell their work. The location can be reached by both car and boat. The event will include entertainment, a free music festival and food vendors. Women who have experienced infertility or miscarriage, are undergoing fertility treatments, or are considering adoption are invited to a monthly support group that meets at Memorial Hospital. HOPE, an independent, peer-led, female-only support group provides an opportunity to share information, discuss sensitive issues, or just listen to others. Meetings are confidential, unbiased and planned to provide support and comfort. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. in Meeting Room E at Memorial Hospital, 500 London Ave. in Marysville (use entrance E). The Food Pantry of Wake Up the World Ministries is open the last Friday of each month from 4 to 8 p.m. to individuals and families in Logan County needing food and who qualify under the Second Harvest Food Bank criteria.The church is in downtown Bellefontaine on the corner of East Columbus Avenue and Madriver Street, across Columbus Avenue from the Huntington Bank. Qualified individuals and families can secure three days of food, including fresh veggies, meats and canned goods, by entering the church’s side entrance on Madriver Street. Overeaters Anonymous meets at 10 a.m. each Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1505 S. Main St., in Bellefontaine. This meeting is open to anyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

Flu shots are offered during regular business hours: Weekdays 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.; and Fridays 8:30 a.m.-noon.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
