Approximately 200 students attended the 2017 Academic Achievement Breakfast. The breakfast is sponsored by Honda of America Mfg., Inc. and NEX Transport, Inc., and is coordinated by the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center in conjunction with area high school guidance counselors.

Students in attendance were from Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan Local Schools, Indian Lake Local Schools, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center and Riverside Local Schools.

Senior Staff Administrator of Honda of America Mfg., Inc. Bill Ramsey spoke about Honda having the foundation of Trust, Initiative, Quality and Joy. The Honda core values are Dream, Joy, Challenging Spirit, Respect and Passion. He encouraged the students to define their core values before they graduate high school and to dream with their eyes wide open.

Operations Manager of V-Tech Communications Inc. Chad Wilkinson was the guest speaker. The topic was being and staying successful. He talked about the three things he feels you need to be successful. One is Belief, two is Personal Accountability and three is to Hang with Successful People. He closed by stating, “the decisions you make defines who you are.”

Each high school principal spoke and shared words of encouragement such as: stay lifelong learners, your excellence makes others excellent and when in a relationship you must be genuine, respect and trust.

Midwest Regional Educational Service Center Superintendent Heather O’Donnell closed the ceremony.
